China Mobile to Procure 30K TD-LTE Data Terminals

Wang Hengjiang, director of the products division of China Mobile Terminal Co., Ltd., the terminals subsidiary of China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), today announced that China Mobile plans to procure 30,000 TD-LTE data terminals. The first batch is scheduled to ship in three cities - Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen - this October, while the second batch will be shipped to more than 10 other cities between now and March 2013 as testing devices. China Mobile also plans to begin laboratory and outdoor voice call testing of multi-mode single-SIM TD-LTE handsets in August 2012.

Editor's Note: According to media reports from Hexun.com, the first batch will comprise 9,000 units and the second batch 20,000 units.
