China Mobile Procures Nano-SIMs for iPhone 5

CCTIME, 9/13/12

Ge Changwei, head of Zhejiang Mobile's market operations division, recently disclosed on his personal microblog that China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has begun procuring nano-SIM cards for the iPhone 5. Guangdong Mobile officially announced on its GoTone brand microblog that its service halls will soon begin selling nano-SIM cards.

The iPhone 5, announced by Apple yesterday, is comparatively light and uses a nano-SIM card smaller than the micro-SIM card used by the iPhone 4S. Because it is thinner, regular SIM and micro-SIM cards cannot be trimmed to fit into a nano-SIM card slot.
