MIIT Allocates FDD-LTE Spectrum

CWW, 10/30/12

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced that China will allocate 60MHz in each the 1800MHz and 2100MHz spectrum ranges, or a total of 120Mhz, for FDD-LTE use. The MIIT stated that it hoped to embody a principle of technology neutrality by allocated separate spectrums for both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE needs.

The MIIT earlier assigned the 2500-2690MHz spectrum, a range of 190MHz, for TD-LTE use.
