360Buy, LeTV Partner on Video Shopping

Ebrun, 10/31/12

Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform 360Buy and Chinese online video site LeTV (300104.SZ) announced a strategic partnership today for online video shopping. There are no signs of the new partnership on either site's homepage, but a new subdomain, http://shipingou.360buy.com ("shipingou" meaning "video shopping") has already gone live.

The homepage of the new site indicates that customers will be able to watch popular film and TV titles on 360Buy's video shopping portal, which will be used for cross-sales promotions of items featured in the videos, allowing customers to directly order products from 360buy's platform.

360Buy announced that it will embed 360Buy coupons in the videos, allowing its customers to enjoy discounts while they watch TV drama series.

LeTV has a licensed library of 90,000 episodes of television content and 5,000 film titles, and enjoys exclusive internet rights to more than 60% of 2012's hottest TV drama series, and between 40% and 50% of 2013's most eagerly anticipated series.
