Qihoo 360 Introduces AutoNavi-Powered Map Search

Sina Tech, 11/30/12

Chinese internet company Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) added map search (map.so.com) to its search engine So.com today, offering route searching, public transit searching, and weather information. Map data for the new search engine is provided by digital map provider AutoNavi (Nasdaq: AMAP).

Editor's Note: The map search engine is currently available only through So.com, rather than through Qihoo 360's navigation portal hao.360.cn, which continues to use Google Maps.

Links to Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) and Google that previously appeared at the top right of the So.com interface have been replaced with a link allowing users to set So.com as their default search engine and a link to the search engine's official microblog account.

The mobile edition of So.com (m.so.com) currently offers only news and web search.
