Tencent Introduces Wireless Speaker

On March 11, the "Discover" channel of 51buy.com (http://faxian.51buy.com), the Tencent-invested consumer electronics B2C, posted a teaser page for a new wireless high-fidelity speaker developed by Tencent's (0700.HK) QQ Music in partnership with wireless hi-fi maker Sonos. The new product is available for pre-order and is expected to go on sale in late March at a price of RMB 2,980.

QQ Music listeners will be able to control the speaker wirelessly from their mobile phones, iPads, and personal computers. A listener using QQ Music on their mobile phone, for instance, will be automatically paired to the Sonos speaker when the phone and the speaker are using the same Wi-Fi network, allowing listeners to play QQ Music playlists over the speaker. In addition to ensuring high-quality audio, the Sonos speaker's wireless technology allows users to place speakers in different rooms around their home to enjoy a richer, layered audio experience.
