Hisense to Release "Minimalist" Smart TV

Sohu IT, 3/12/13

Zhou Houjian, chairman of Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Hisense Electric (600060.SH), said today that Hisense will release a "minimalist" smart TV in China and the United States. The "minimalist" design will be reflected chiefly in the TV's remote control.

According to market surveys, 90% of prospective TV buyers are disposed toward buying smart TVs, but products are beset by problems including complicated interface design, difficulties in searching for content, and slow application run speeds. Zhou said that Hisense's forthcoming smart TV will introduce major user-experience-focused innovations in its operating system.
