Apple to Raise Minimum China App Price to RMB 8

US electronics giant Apple has revealed that the company will raise the minimum price for apps on the company's China app store to RMB 8 from RMB 6. Apps priced at USD 0.99 in the US market are now sold for RMB 8 in China, with developers receiving 70% of app sales revenue. USD 1.99/2.99 apps are still priced at RMB 12/18, while the price of USD 3.99 apps has been raised from RMB 25 to RMB 28. The price for USD 4.99 apps has remained unchanged at RMB 30.

Apple opened its app store to Chinese currency (RMB) transactions in November 2011, setting the price for USD 0.99 apps at RMB 6.
