China Develops Active Matrix Organic LED Panel

China's first flexible AMOLED color display screen has been successfully developed through a cooperation between the State Key Laboratory of Luminescent Materials and Devices, South China University of Technology, and Guangzhou-based AMOLED products developer, manufacturer, and retailer Guangzhou New Vision Optoelectronic Company.

The screen utilizes Ln-IZO metallic oxide TFT backplane technology developed by South China University of Technology. With a display area of 4.8-inches and a thickness of 100 microns, the screen is ultra-thin, ultra-light, bendable, foldable, and resistant to mechanical impact.
