DoNews, 9/05/13

Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi has officially launched the latest iteration of its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi3, priced at RMB 1,999 for the 16GB version and RMB 2,499 for the 64GB version.

The Mi3 features two versions powered by different processors: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 version, which supports both China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) WCDMA network and China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) CDMA2000 EV-DO network, as well as the NVIDIA Tegra 4 version, which supports China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) TD-SCDMA network. Both versions of the Mi3 come with 2GB of RAM, as well as a choice of 16GB or 64GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi will launch sales of the China Mobile-enabled Mi3 prototype on September 9, with sales of the official Mi3 China Mobile version to launch in mid-October.
