According to an industry source, He Chuan, a senior vice president at Chinese SNS operator Renren (NYSE: RENN) and head of the company's games business, has taken a leave of absence for health-related reasons. As of October 26, the daily management of Renren Games is being overseen by company COO Liu Jian. According to the source, Renren Games began layoffs a week ago, with cuts affecting divisions including browser game platforms, a portion of game operations, advertising, and the company's technical division.
Renren has not offered a statement regarding the rumors.
