China Telecom Submits List of 16 Potential MVNO Partners

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) has submitted an initial list of 16 mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) partners to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for approval. The list includes: Suning (002024.SZ), Gome (0493.HK), D.Phone, Shenzhen Aisidi Industry (002416.SZ), Telling Telecom Holding (000829.SZ), Longmaster Information & Technology (300288.SZ), Bewinner Communications (002148.SZ), Funtalk, HiChina, Jingdong, Lianlian Technology, Telephone World, Yonyou Software, 35.com (300051.SZ), Changjiang Era, and SoShare.
China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) has already reviewed and approved 14 MVNO partner companies, while China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has yet to reveal information regarding the signing of any MVNO partnership contracts.
According to an industry source, the company list submitted by China Telecom to the MIIT is not final, and China Telecom and China Unicom's ultimate MVNO partners will be influenced by China Mobile's MVNO partner selection.
