China Star Begins Second Phase 8.5G OLED Plant Construction

Shenzhen-based LCD manufacturer China Star has launched the second phase of construction for its 8.5G OLED panel production line. China Star has invested RMB 2.44 bln in second phase of the new facility, which is targeting production capacity of 100,000 OLED panels per month upon opening in Q3 2015. China Star projects that the new production line will increase the company's annual output by RMB 2.27 bln.

Bo Lianming, CEO of China Star, has revealed that the RMB 2.44 bln earmarked for the project will be funded by the company's cash on hand, bank loans, and equity financing, rather than by existing investors.

China Star recorded revenues of RMB 10.6 bln in Q3 2013, with RMB 1.42 bln in profit.
