Communications PaaS 'Cloopen' Lands USD 4 Mln Funding

Beijing-based Speedtong Information Technology, a subsidiary of Hisunsray Information Technology and operator of cloud communications PaaS (Platform as a Service) Cloopen, has announced the closing of USD 4 mln in series-A funding from Sequoia Capital, to be used primarily for R&D, hiring of additional personnel, and advertising purposes.

Cloopen's PaaS solution provides enterprise and developer clients with integrated telephone network and internet voice, conference, video and other voice services. Services include application programming interface (API) enabled functionality such as voice-text interconversion, interactive voice response (IVR), and SMS, as well as an integrated software development kit (SDK) for developers. Users of Cloopen's platform include companies in gaming, finance, medical, and other sectors.
