China Mobile to Sell 100 Mln 4G Terminals in 2014

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) chairman Xi Guohua stated today that the company will offer more than 200 different 4G handset models next year. According to Xi, China Mobile will release a 4G handset priced at RMB 1,000, as well as terminal products including self-branded 4G handsets. The company expects TD-LTE terminal sales to exceed 100 mln units in 2014.

According to Xi, China Mobile's TD-SCDMA terminal sales volume is expected to exceed 155 mln units in 2013. China Mobile has partnerships with over 1 mln handset distribution channels, terminal manufacturers, and content providers. Handset subsidies offered by China Mobile will exceed RMB 27 bln in 2013, and revenue share with content suppliers will reach RMB 20 bln.

China Mobile will focus on expansion of terminal sales volume next year, seeking to achieve standardized quality, distribution, and pricing.
