Tencent Mobile Manager Adds Payment Security Features

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) has released v5.1 of its mobile handset manager "Tencent Mobile Manager," updating the app's mobile payment security features. As described by Tencent, the app provides security features before, during and after making mobile payments.

Before payment, the app provides vulnerability detection by performing a security check against every category of online shopping app on user handsets. During payment, the app protects against QR code-embedded viruses and bank card information theft. After payment, account numbers and passwords are secured in the event of handset loss.

Tencent Mobile Manager has also been included in Tencent's "Safe Wi-Fi Alliance," providing app users with a list of nearby secure and free Wi-Fi hotspots.
