Former DST China Partner Shou Zi Chew Joins Xiaomi as CFO

Lei Jun, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Technology, announced via his personal microblog that Shou Zi Chew (Zhou Shouzi), former partner for Russian-based investment group Digital Sky Technologies (DST) in China, has joined Xiaomi as CFO. The previous head of finance, VP Zhang Jinling, will now report to Chew.
Chew joined DST in 2010 and in the past five years was responsible for its investments in Xiaomi, B2C e-commerce platform JD.com (Nasdaq: JD), e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA) and Xiaoju Network Technology, operator of mobile taxi booking app Didi Dache. The Harvard MBA graduate previously worked at US investment bank Goldman Sachs, having received an undergraduate degree in Economics from University College London.
Lei emphasized that Xiaomi is not seeking to list, and the purpose of recruiting Chew is for him to improve investor relations and manage the company's investments.
