Gome's E-commerce Unit Appoints New Management in Drive to IPO

Chinese home appliance and consumer electronics retailer Gome (0493.HK) has appointed senior vice president Li Juntao to CEO of Gome's B2C e-commerce business. The company has also appointed senior vice president He Yangqing to COO of Gome.com.cn, and has tapped Gome vice president Song Linlin to act as a VP of the company's e-commerce business.
Gome.com.cn will focus on accomplishing 6 tasks, according to He Yangqing:
1. Implement an O2O project;
2. Improve offline retail stores;
3. Build the largest smart home appliance e-commerce website;
4. Construct a Gome cloud platform;
5. Create a social networking platform called "Meixin";
6. Build a smart home appliance platform mainly promoting Gome's self-produced goods.
Li Juntao revealed that Gome.com.cn has plans to IPO independently in the future and will work on expanding both its own home appliance and consumer electronics platform, and cloud platform. Gome's own platform features its self-produced home appliance and smart products, while the cloud platform will be built as a comprehensive online shopping platform.
