Alibaba's Collaboration App 'DingTalk' Opens Platform for Enterprise SaaS Providers

Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group's (NYSE: BABA) collaboration app DingTalk has released an open platform for enterprise SaaS providers, which leverages the app's telecommunications services.
DingTalk is now pursuing a new strategy in which it provides internal communications and other fundamental business services. Partner developers can use the new platform to create products built around these services, which will then be made available to DingTalk's enterprise customers. DingTalk will also work together with independent developers to offer enterprise SaaS services to SMEs.
DingTalk will also invest RMB 1 bln in a new ecosystem development fund, as a resource for developers.
Launched in January this year, DingTalk stated it has it has more than 600,000 corporate customers now and is adding over 100,000 every month.
A spokesperson says the number of partnering businesses exceeds 100.
