Online Education Portal Juesheng Wins RMB 200 Mln Series C

Juesheng Education Technology, a Chinese provider of education services and operator of an online education portal, has completed Series C funding worth more than RMB 200 mln in a round including participation from Tangel Publishing (300148.SZ), IT training institute Tarena International (Nasdaq: TEDU), and several executives from Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), and Tencent (0700.HK). Tangel chairman Xiao Zhihong will join the board of Juesheng, which already includes Michael Yu, chairman of Chinese education services provider New Oriental (NYSE: EDU), and Wang Chaoyong, founder of investment firm ChinaEquity Group (833858.NEEQ).
Juesheng previously completed angel funding in June, 2013 from Ameba Capital, Series A funding from ChinaEquity Group and High Ground Capital in December, 2013, and Series B funding in March, 2015, in a round led by ChinaEquity Group with participation from New Oriental and U.S.-based Linear Venture.
Juesheng, which launched in 2012, currently has more than 220,000 service providers, 14 mln registered users, and 16 mln app downloads. Juesheng's webpage and mobile app cover education for students aged 3-22, including early education, K-12, extracurricular education, and vocational training.
