Taobao Movie Rebrands and Partners with Damai, Ali Sports

Taobao Movie, the online and mobile movie ticketing platform operated by a subsidiary of Chinese film and TV entertainment company Alibaba Pictures Group (1060.HK), has announced a partnership with online ticketing site Damai.cn and Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group's (NYSE: BABA) sports subsidiary Ali Sports to expand the scope of its ticketing services. The company also announced a new name for its service "Tao Piao Piao" (unofficially "Taobao Tickets").
Taobao Paio Piao's updated mobile app can now directly purchase a portion of event tickets provided by Damai.cn, and Taobao Piao Piao is working to add tickets for sports events such as soccer games.
Taobao Piao Piao will also unite its online and offline resources to expand its marketing and financing service support for film production in 2016, including test audience surveys, customized road show strategy, and big data investment strategy. Taobao Piao Piao will look to provide seed money to start film production, financial guarantees during shooting, and a mechanism for film investors to exit their investment once a film has been completed.
