Today's Headlines Invests in Online Stock Image Platform Dongfang IC

Beijing-based Bytedance Technology, developer of online and mobile news portal Today's Headlines, today announced its strategic investment in Shanghai-based Yingmai Culture Communication, operator of online and mobile stock images platform Dongfang IC. Bytedance said that Dongfang IC will remain independent following the investment and did not reveal funding details.

Kuang Zhanyu, co-founder of Dongfang IC, said that the platform's database currently contain more than 100 mln images and that it serves more than 1,000 Chinese and foreign media and advertising customers. Bytedance's big data, image analysis, and personalized algorithm technologies will help Dongfang IC to upgrade its services and product customization capabilities and enable it to meet customer image content requirements more precisely. Platform upgrades will help Dongfang IC to provide visual content solutions for its customers and improve returns for photographers who provide original creative content.

Yingmai Culture Communication was established in January 2005.
