Four Chinese State-owned Enterprises to Form Healthcare Big Data Company

Chinese state-owned enterprises China Electronics Corporation (CEC), State Development and Investment Corporation, China United Network Communications Corporation (a subsidiary of telecom operator China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH)), and the China Structural Reform Fund recently launched a joint venture subsidiary called China Healthcare Big Data Industry Development.
A representative for China Electronics Corporation said that the new company will invest in and operate national healthcare big data centers and industrial parks. It will use financing to provide incubation support within the healthcare industry to develop a healthcare big data industry ecosystem.
The joint venture will work in partnership with local government agencies in selected pilot regions, and will also work with local partners. It will apply its investors' resources for data technology, industry incubation, communications infrastructure, and investment, as well as their experience with cloud computing, big data, and Internet of Things applications and services to develop, create, and operate national and regional big data cloud centers.
