China Suppliers Lowers Membership Fees

National Business Daily, 3/04/08

China Suppliers, the exclusive government-authorized online B2B marketplace in China, has begun to lower its business membership fees in order to attract more enterprises. The company's least expensive membership is now priced at RMB 10,000/year.

China Suppliers executive vice president Wang Liantao pointed out that at present, domestic B2B site membership fees generally range between RMB 60,000 - 150,000 per year, which has prevented most B2B sites from attracting many paying members. Among China Suppliers' current 10 mln registered users, only 10,000 are paying members. Similarly, as of the first half of 2007, only 256,000 of Alibaba's 25 mln users were paying members.
