Rumor: China Mobile to Delay Android Phone

A source familiar with the matter has claimed that China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) will possibly delay the launch of its first mobile phone based on Google's Android platform due to unexpected issues with Chinese character support and the merging of China Mobile's branded data services. China Mobile, which had initially planned on releasing an Android-based phone in Q3 2008, has declined to comment on the rumors.
