IDC: China's 2008 Online Transactions to Reach RMB 2 Trln

According to a research paper from the International Data Corporation (IDC), the scale of B2B e-commerce transactions grew to an estimated RMB 1.951 trln in 2008, up 20% over the 2007 figure of RMB 1.6078 trln. The report estimates total growth in B2C/C2C business for 2008 at 30%. Total e-commerce transaction value is forecast to reach approximately RMB 2.51 trln in 2009, and RMB 3.22 trln in 2010 – growth of 28% in both years.

Also, e-commerce platforms will evolve from ‘functional platforms' to ‘ecological platforms'.
