SVA Electron, SVA Information Expect Losses for 2008

LCD manufacturer SVA Electron (600602.SH) has announced that the company expects a loss for 2008 of between RMB 900 mln and RMB 1.1 bln. SVA stated that steep declines in LCD panel market demand and product prices during the second half of 2008 have resulted in heavy losses for the company.
SVA Information Industry Co., Ltd. (600637.SH) has also announced that the company expects a loss for 2008 of between RMB 900 mln to RMB 1 bln. The company stated that significant losses incurred by its subsidiary SVA Optronics had a serious impact on the company in 2008.
