DCCI: China Internet Users Reach 350 Mln

The Data Center of the China Internet (DCCI) has released Internet user statistics for H1 2009, showing that as of June 30, there were approximately 351 mln Chinese Internet users, up 15.8% from 303 mln on December 31, 2008. Penetration rates are still relatively low, exceeding 60% only in more developed cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Editor's Note: In its survey, the DCCI defines "Internet user" as someone who uses the Internet at least once a week.
