DCCI: China Online Ad Market Reaches RMB 8.35 Bln in H1

The Data Center of the China Internet (DCCI) has issued its 2009 H1 2009 Internet Advertising Market Report. Total sales volume for online advertising and marketing on the Chinese Internet in the first half of 2009 reached RMB 8.35 bln, increasing 2.9% PoP. The first half of 2009 was characterized by a substantial drop in spending in Q1 2009 followed by a recovery in Q2 2009. The Chinese online advertising market reached RMB 4.26 bln in sales in Q4 2008, a 7.7% drop from the previous quarter, and fell further in Q1 2009 to RMB 3.48 bln, then recovered to RMB 4.26 bln in Q2 2009.

Search engine advertising revenue hit RMB 2.93 bln in H1 2009, a 29.9% increase PoP over H1 2008's RMB 2.26 bln.
