Rumor: Focus CEO to Head Filmore Media

According to industry sources, Focus Media (Nasdaq: FMCN) president Jason Jiang will soon leave to take over as CEO of Chinese movie theater operator Filmore Media. In the last three years, Filmore Media has consolidated more than 200 high end movie theaters in 44 Chinese cities under its aegis, a total of 1,200 screens. These theaters account for 85% of Chinese box office revenue.

Editor's Note: In related news, the details on Focus Media's entry into wireless services via stock purchase of China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) 12580 operations are not yet clear. Some reports say that Focus Media has already purchased a 51% stake in 12580's "Encyclopedia for Daily Life" MMS business.
