Netease Games, 12/14/09

CCTV reported last night that cultural market law enforcement agencies nationwide, under China's Ministry of Culture, have conducted over 10,000 inquiries, inspected over 5,000 online gaming businesses and penalized 204 online games this year as part of a government inter-departmental campaign to clean up the Internet.

Deputy minister Ouyang Jian said that effective filtering against harmful content has been implemented for tens of millions of computers in Internet cafes across China, and called for increased vigilance in supervising online gaming content and operations, in order to eliminate problems like internet addiction and covert gambling at the source.
