Baidu to Expand Regional Post Bars

Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) Post Bar operations department has said that it has plans to officially launch an open media platform and invite major metropolitan media outlets to create regional Post Bars. Media outlets that take part in this plan will become exclusive partners for the regional Post Bars. The regional Post Bars will become a platform for interaction between local media and internet users.

Metropolitan media outlets that take part in Baidu Post Bar's open media platform will be officially recognized and identified by Baidu, and will have exclusive rights to operation of the headline section of the regional Baidu Post Bar page. Baidu will determine visitors' location via their IP address, and will recommend local media to them, thereby bringing together potential customers.

Since August, Baidu has created the "Hangzhou Regional Post Bar" with the Hangzhou Daily, the "Shijiazhuang Regional Post Bar" with the Yanzhao Metropolitan News, and the "Fujian Regional Post Bar" with the Southeastern Express.
