Qihoo Invests in Two More Software Firms

Tencent Tech, 2/10/10

An exclusive report says Chinese antivirus software maker Qihoo has made investments in two well-known domestic software companies; the investments will reportedly be announced after the Chinese New Year holiday.

Both companies reportedly make high-profile software products with "appreciable" user bases. Qihoo has invested in or acquired outright ten companies under its "Qifei" ("Takeoff") freeware incubation plan.

Qihoo president Qi Xiangdong revealed that the majority of the company's investments were in client software that will allow Qihoo's 360 Safe Guard antivirus application to provide a richer range of services to customers.
