An industry source close to Chinese semiconductor manufacturer Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) (NYSE: SMI, 0981.HK) has told foreign media that SMIC plans to transfer management and operations of its 8" wafer production facility in Chengdu to US firm Texas Instruments.
According to Mu Gang, the vice president and director of multimedia sales for Chinese TV and consumer electronics manufacturer Konka Group (200016.SZ, 000016.SZ), the company's LED internet TVs will be based on an open platform, such that third-party applications will be able to run on its 'Wangrui' (meaning "Net Sharp") series of LED TVs.
