Rumor: Moca World to Win USD 5+ Mln in Funding

On April 1, an industry source confirmed that a well-known Japanese financial group has reached an official investment agreement with an up-and-coming Chinese mobile gaming company, under which it could invest USD 5 mln or more into the company in the initial round of funding. The financial group reportedly has a wealth of experience in the wireless communications sector, and is strongly interested in investing in mobile gaming and SNS projects. Industry insiders speculate that Chinese mobile developer Moca World could be the target of the investment.

Moca World announced yesterday that it will launch its flagship game, Moyouji, on April 9. The game will bring large amounts of SNS game content into the MMORPG-style online world. Moca World CEO Song Xiaofei says that the game will seek to attract players with its relaxed, easy, and customizable game content and graphics - what the company calls its "easy gaming" concept.
