Nokia Unveils Two TD-SCDMA Handsets

Nokia has released its second and third TD-SCDMA 3G handsets, the X5-00 and C5-01, following its debut TD-SCDMA handset, the 6788. Both target the mid-range handset market.

The two phones are operator-customized handsets for China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), and come pre-installed with China Mobile 3G software clients for music, video, Fetion instant messaging and the MM-Ovi application store. The handsets are expected to hit the market in Q2 2010.

The Nokia X5-00, which uses the Symbian mobile OS, is aimed at music aficionados and youth, and comes with a one-click music-playing function.
