Aigo Partners with Solar Tech Company

Beijing Business Today, 6/01/10

Chinese consumer electronics company Aigo signed a partnership agreement with photovoltaic product maker Yingli Group in Baoding, Hebei province yesterday, and announced that the two companies will work together to develop new solar powered consumer electronic products.

Once the agreement takes effect, the two companies could establish a new-energy company for joint R&D on solar-powered electronics. Neither company would comment, however, on how much they would invest in the joint venture, on whether it would seek to list, or on what products it might introduce.

An Aigo employee revealed that the partnership will initially result in two new products, one of which will be a solar-enabled "automobile electronics package" used to provide power to auto batteries.
