SMIC Q4 2010 Profit Reaches USD 69 Mln

Chinese semiconductor foundry Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) (NYSE: SMI, 0981.HK) has announced its consolidated financial results for Q4 2010, with net revenues reaching USD 411.8 mln, up 23.6% YoY and up 0.4% QoQ.

Net income attributable to equity holders for the quarter was USD 68.6 mln, compared to a net loss of USD 617.66 mln in Q4 2009.

Revenue by application in Q4 2010 broke down as follows: 2.3% from computer products, 50.5% from communications products, 39.7% from consumer products, and 7.5% from other products. Revenue by customer was 79.6% fabless semiconductor companies, 16.7% integrated device manufacturers (IDM), and 3.7% system companies and others. 56.4% of revenues were generated by sales to North America, 31.2% to mainland China, and 12.4% to Eurasia (excluding China).

The company estimates that Q1 2011 revenues will decline by 6% to 9%.
