Wang Chen, director of China's State Council Information Office (SCIO) and State Internet Information Office (SIIO) and deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, yesterday encouraged Communist Party and government officials to actively use China's microblogging platforms to "serve society."
In an interview with Netease Tech yesterday, Ma Daojie, director of China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) handset management center and general manager of its procurement subsidiary Tianyi Telecom Terminals, revealed that supply for the operator's large-screen RMB 1,000 3G smartphones had remained tight, which had in turn kept sales of the devices from growing faster.
In a speech yesterday at the CEO Manpower Conference 2011 hosted by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) chairman Wang Jianzhou said that the mobile operator currently adds more than 1 mln new iPhone users each month, and was serving a total of 9.5 mln iPhone users as of the end of September.
