Rumor: Provincial Capitals Unprepared for Convergence Trials

CCID, 11/11/11

An industry source revealed recently that a number of China's provincial capitals had been added to the list of cities to be included in the second round of "triple-play" network convergence trials, but said that not every city had good prospects. Tianjin, Guangzhou, and Chengdu are among the first-round cities actively seeking to be included in the second round of trials, while Chongqing has not applied to be included in the second round.

Rumors earlier this month stated that the list of second-round cities had already been submitted to the State Council for approval, but the contents of the list remain confidential.
