Figures released by China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) yesterday show that as of November 2011, its Mobile Market (MM) mobile app store had a total of 149 mln registered users, 102,000 aggregated mobile software products, games and theme applications, and handled a total of 490 mln downloads.
Yang Xiaowei, deputy general manager of China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK), revealed yesterday at the award ceremony for the Open Mobile Internet Alliance's 2011 Mobile Internet Application Innovation Competition in Beijing that China Telecom sold more than 16 mln smartphone handsets in 2011.
Following data breaches which recently led to leaks of user account information, online community Chinese Software Developer Network (CSDN.net) has announced a new partnership with Hangzhou-based e-commerce company Alibaba Group's cloud computing subsidiary, Alibaba Cloud Computing ("AliCloud"), aimed at better securing the company's core data and operations.
