Lenovo Holdings to Invest RMB 26 Bln in Hubei

During the recent 2012 investors meeting of Hony Capital in Wuhan, Liu Chuanzhi, chairman of Lenovo's (0992.HK) parent company Lenovo Holdings, announced that Lenovo will invest RMB 26 bln in Hubei province over the next 3-5 years.

Liu said the investment would target three areas: first, establishing a technology park in the region; second, making acquisitions in the manufacturing and financial sectors; and construction of a supply chain and logistics base.

To date, Lenovo Holdings has invest RMB 5.82 bln and USD 245 mln in Hubei.
