Foxconn Robot Production Behind Schedule

Sohu IT, 9/27/12

According to a knowledgeable source, Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW) has run into production problems in its plan to manufacture 1 mln robots to complete basic manufacturing tasks for the company.

Foxconn has currently manufactured around 5% of the 300,000 robots Foxconn originally planned to have completed by the end of 2012. The company will use the robots to replace high-risk, high-turnover employees on its assembly lines.
