Taobao Mobile Adds "Nearby User Purchases" Function

Hangzhou-based C2C & B2C e-commerce site Taobao recently added a new function to its mobile clients that allows users to browse purchases by other users nearby. Users can log in via Taobao's mobile applications or WAP portal and select "Nearby Users' Purchases" to get a list of products bought by users in their area.
To insure user privacy, the app only lists product information on mobile purchases made recently by nearby users and does not disclose users' names, addresses, or account information. Users can also choose not to share this information in their location settings.
