Kingsoft Q3 2012 Profit Up 42% YoY

Chinese software developer and online entertainment provider Kingsoft (3888.HK) has announced its financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2012. Q3 2012 revenue was RMB 365.39 mln, an increase of 51% YoY.
Net profit for the quarter was RMB 108.08 mln, up 42% YoY from RMB 74.89 mln in the third quarter of 2011.
Revenue from the Entertainment Software business was RMB 210.96 mln, up 28% YoY. Revenue from the Application Software business was RMB 151.77 mln, up 96% YoY. Revenue from Other businesses was RMB 2.66 mln, as compared to revenue from Other businesses of nil a year before.
Daily average peak concurrent users for Kingsoft's Online Gaming business were 611,474, up slightly from 608,607 a year before. The monthly average paying accounts (APA) for the company's online games increased 4% QoQ and 29% YoY to 1.52 mln. The sequential increase mainly reflected the success of the expansion pack "Wakened Dragon of Erhai" for martial arts MMORPG JX Online III. APA of JX Online III grew to more than 0.75 mln in September, with an increase of 13% QoQ and 128% YoY. Kingsoft launched the expansion pack "Nirvana of the Light" expansion pack for JX Online III in late November. Kingsoft's 2.5D MMORPG "Legend of Moon" and 3D martial arts MMORPG, "Legend of the Holy World" were commercially launched in September and October, respectively.
The monthly active user bases of Kingsoft Internet Security and Kingsoft PC Doctor reached 120 mln and 50 mln during the quarter, respectively.
Daily active users of Kingsoft's Cheetah internet browser reached 3 mln during the quarter.
The monthly active users of WPS Personal Edition rose to more than 40 mln during the quarter. Kingsoft's WPS Mobile Office product exceed 7 mln users globally during the quarter.
