China Mobile Tests TD-LTE Video Calling in Chengdu

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) recently announced it has completed its first central and western China TD-LTE network trials in Chengdu (Sichuan Province), including the city's first TD-LTE video call test using a prototype handset from Chinese vendor Huawei.

Jian Qin, GM of Sichuan Mobile, said the provincial subsidiary aims to deploy 15,000 base stations across the province by the end of 2013, covering major urban areas in 21 cities.
