NQ Mobile Denies Fabricating User Base Data

Chinese mobile security provider NQ Mobile (NYSE: NQ) has responded to a recent report posted on Seeking Alpha by FJE Research claiming that the company has inflated its total user statistics by over ten-fold. According to NQ Mobile, the company's total market share and user statistics were verified by a branch of GfK Group before NQ Mobile's IPO in 2011. NQ Mobile reports its total share of China's mobile security market to be around 63%. NQ Mobile shares fell more than 11% on December 10 after FJE Research reported NQ Mobile's mobile security market share to be around 5.4%, with 9 mln active users.
