Huawei, Italian Telco Partner on NGN

Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei recently announced that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Italian telecom operator Fastweb. According to the agreement, Huawei and Fastweb will collaborate in building next-generation (NGN) ultrafast broadband networks and researching advanced technologies. The agreement is part of the economic and trade cooperation project worth USD 1.27 bln signed between China and Italy.
Fastweb, not to be confused with the Chinese content delivery network (CDN) services firm of the same name, is a subsidiary of Swisscom.
