ZTE Launches Nubia-branded High-end Smartphone

Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) has revealed its flagship Nubia Z5 high-end smartphone. The 32GB version of the handset will retail for RMB 3,456, while the "titanium edition" of the handset will retail for RMB 7,890.

The Nubia Z5 features a 5" 1080p screen, 13 megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core processor, and runs on a customized Android 4.1 based "Nubia UI." The handset is CDMA, WCDMA, EVDO, and LTE compatible.

According to Ni Fei, GM of the Nubia product line, the handset will be released through the official Nubia website and a number of offline channels in January. The Z5 is the first Nubia branded handset released by ZTE.
