Beijing Court Uses VR System to Recreate Circumstances of Alleged Crime

Beijing Youth Daily, 3/02/18

The Beijing First Intermediate People's Court recently used a new in-court evidence visualization system during presentation of evidence at a murder trial. Witnesses wore a VR headset and used a handheld controller while recreating the circumstances of the alleged crime. The system is being promoted for use by government prosecutors throughout the city.

The visualization system also includes a file review function that allows prosecutors to import electronic files and examine them on screen. Prosecutors can use a "marker" function to mark up, enlarge, and annotate files and photos.
